Revenue from communications services in the first quarter was 168.9 billion yuan, up 1.8 per cent from the same period last year.

Revenue from sales of products and other products in the first quarter was 12.4 billion yuan, down 34.9% from the same period last year.

The profit attributable to shareholders of China Mobile in the first quarter was 23.5 billion yuan, down 0.8 per cent from the same period last year.

Operating income was 181.3 billion yuan, down 2.0% from the same period last year.

It is mainly due to the COVID-19 epidemic, which has a greater impact on mobile phone terminals, Internet of things and other goods sales.

In the first quarter, mobile Internet traffic increased by 43.4% over the same period last year, and the DOU of mobile Internet reached 8.3GB; due to OTT substitution and the epidemic of COVID-19, the total number of call minutes decreased by 16.3% over the same period last year, to 661.4 billion minutes; SMS usage increased by 45.4% over the same period last year; and mobile ARPU in the first quarter was 46.9 yuan, down 6.7% from the same period last year, with a narrowing decline.
