45th Beidou satellite starts operation in network

According to the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, the 45th satellite of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System (Beidou II System Geostationary Satellite) developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation’s Fifth Academy has passed tests in orbit and evaluation and started operation in the network.

According to the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, the 45th satellite of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System (Beidou II System Geostationary Satellite) developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation’s Fifth Academy has passed tests in orbit and evaluation and started operation in the network.

It will succeed the third satellite of the Beidou satellite navigation system (the Beidou-2 system geostationary satellite), using the number 1 to provide services.

This satellite replacement will help improve the operaton of Beidou-2 system operation and support the smooth transition of Beidou-2 system to Beidou-3 system.

The third satellite is in maintenance state after being replaced.
