China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that it has recently completed the review and filing of a report on Kenli 6-1 Oilfield Proven Reserves.

As of now, the proven geological reserves of oil in Kenli 6-1 oilfield exceed 100 million tons, marking China’s first large-scale oilfield of 100 million tons in the northern area of Laizhou Bay in China.

According to reports, Kenli 6-1 Oilfield is another major discovery made by CNOOC in the Bohai Sea after Bozhong 19-6, a large-scale condensate gas field with proven geological reserves of 100 billion cubic meters.

Chinese media said that this is of great significance for ensuring China’s energy security, stabilizing the output of the eastern oil fields, and promoting the development of the Bohai Rim Economic Zone.
