Beijing transacts RMB 1.07 bln in the carbon market in five years.

According to the Carbon Trading Center of Beijing Environment Exchange, since the carbon market was in operation five years ago, the market has accumulated a total of 29.64 million tons’ transactions, with a turnover of 1.07 billion yuan, and an average transaction price of 52.8 yuan per ton.

Since becoming a carbon trading pilot five years ago, Beijing has transacted a total of 1.07 billion yuan in the carbon emission market.

According to the Carbon Trading Center of Beijing Environment Exchange, since the carbon market was in operation five years ago, the market has accumulated a total of 29.64 million tons’ transactions, with a turnover of 1.07 billion yuan, and an average transaction price of 52.8 yuan per ton.

More than 900 entities have taken part in the transaction, including state-owned enterprises, foreign capital, and investment institutions, as well as public institutions such as hospitals, schools, and government agencies.

Besides, Beijing’s main carbon emitters have gradually shifted from production enterprises to life services. At present, the 900 key carbon emitters only have emitted 40% of the city’s total carbon.
