Toronto-based overseas college students tutoring company Easy Group recently announced that it has received nearly $10 million in Series A financing round from Matrix Partners China. The company’s founder Zhang Yuwei said that the proceeds will be mainly used team expansion, technical investment and product optimization.

Easy Group was established in September 2014. Easy Edu is a core brand of the company. The company provides academic tutoring courses for overseas college students, and auxiliary services such as admission planning, career development consulting and graduate application, building a comprehensive ecosystem in international education.

Niu Lixiong, Partner of Matrix Partners China, said: “There are two main reasons for investing in Easy Group. First, the company’s management team consists of Jacky Zhang and Steven Li, who are both ambitious and down-to-earth. They are the entrepreneurs we appreciate.
