Sichuan did well in green development and ranks the fourth in CCER transaction in 2018

Since the launch of the carbon market in Sichuan Province, its cumulative transaction volume of the CCERs has reached 11.6 million tons, of which the transaction volume in 2018 ranks fourth in China.

In 2018, to boost green development, Sichuan allocated RMB 4.273 billion of transfer payment funds for key ecological function zones, an increase of 98.5% year-on-year. It also established a provincial incentive mechanism for assessing the quality of atmospheric and water environments in cities and prefectures, as well as set up RMB 270 million incentive awards.

Besides, Sichuan is the first in China to launch wetland eco-compensation pilots, as well as the first to implement the policy of coal-to-electricity replacing electricity prices. All of its 34 cities have started levying domestic waste disposal fees, and 2,000 companies have involved in its self-established environmental pollution liability insurance.
