China Unicom has opened 130,000 5G base stations one year after commercialization

Data released by China Unicom today shows that as of the end of May 2020, China Unicom and China Telecom had opened a total of 115,000 shared base stations.

Recent data released by China Unicom today shows that as of the end of May 2020, China Unicom and China Telecom had opened a total of 115,000 shared base stations.

They have launched 5G co-construction covering 31 provinces across the country, and have achieved the 5G commercialization in more than 50 cities.

China Unicom can use nearly 130,000 5G base stations, covering all municipalities, major capital cities, and key cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Greater Bay Area regions.

It is expected that by the end of this year, the total number of China Unicom’s 5G base stations will reach 300,000, covering all prefecture-level cities and towns across the country.
