Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway starts construction

This morning, the Shanghai Section of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, a major project for the integration development of the Yangtze River Delta, held a starting ceremony.

Shanghai Section of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, a major project for the integration development of the Yangtze River Delta, held a starting ceremony on 5th June.

The Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission said that the project line runs from Shanghai Hongqiao Station in the east to Huzhou Station in Huzhou City in the west, passing through Minhang District, Songjiang District and Qingpu District in Shanghai, Suzhou City in Jiangsu Province, and Huzhou City in Zhejiang Province.

It has a total length of 163.8 kilometers and 6 stations, including 64.8 kilometers in Shanghai and 2 stations at Shanghai Hongqiao Station and Songjiang South Station.

It has been graded as high-speed railway, and the designed target speed is 350km/h. The total construction period is estimated to be 4 years.
