China realizes small pilot production of graphene single crystal

The team of Xie Xiaoming, a researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made breakthroughs in the preparation of high-quality graphene electronic materials, and recently won the first prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award.

The organization now masters the controllable production technology of graphene single crystal wafers, and realized the small batch production of 4-8 inch graphene single crystal.

By building an innovation laboratory, the team achieved pilot production of 8-inch graphene single crystalwafers, 4-inch germanium-based graphene wafers, and large-area hexagonal boron nitride dielectric thin films.

Xie’s team also cooperates with many domestic and international units to realize the application of graphene in microelectronics, energy, biomedicine and other fields.

They plan to complete the laboratory construction in September this year, and start pilot-scale production 8-inch graphene single crystal wafers and other products.
