World-leading H-class gas turbine generator put into production for first time in China

On June 14th, Huadian Fuxin Energy Unit 1, China’s first H-class heavy-duty gas turbine generator with the world’s leading level and the largest single-unit CCHP (Combined Cooling, Heating and Power) power supply project, was successfully put into operation.

This project is a key project for Huadian Group to advance its strategy called Five Three Six Strategy.

As an important energy support for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangzhou City, the operation of the project will provide safe, efficient, clean and low-carbon green energy for the region.

The project is located in Zengcheng, the eastern economic hinterland of Guangzhou City. It will build 2 sets of 670,000 kilowatts of gas-steam combined cycle units, with an annual power generation of 4.384 billion kilowatt hours.

Its Unit 1 uses Siemens SGT5-8000H high-efficiency gas turbine, which is one of the gas turbines with the highest net efficiency, best reliability and strongest power in commercial operation in the world.

The unit uses low-nitrogen combustion technology plus high-efficiency SCR denitration technology, and the pollutant emission concentration level is better than the national standard.

It reduces 1,437 tons of smoke and dust, 2,230 tons of sulfur dioxide and 251 tons of nitrogen oxides annually.

Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same capacity, it reduces CO2 emissions by 55% annually, which can significantly ease the pressure on environmental protection in Guangzhou.
