In May, the investment in fixed assets of transportation was 343.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.0%, and the growth rate was 8.9 percentage points faster than in April.

From January to May, the investment in fixed assets of transportation was 1,022.3 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9% year-on-year. The cumulative growth rate for the first time this year has achieved growth, indicating that the transportation investment gap caused by the epidemic has been initially filled.

The main sectors of the transportation industry have been resumed. As of June 22, the resumption rate of key projects under construction reached 99.84%.

The resumption rate of highway and waterway transportation enterprises reached 98.7%, of which the resumption rate of passenger transportation and freight transportation enterprises reached 98.0% and 99.6% respectively.

Freight operations continued to pick up. In May, the commercial freight volume of highways and waterways was 4.07 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%.

The nationwide postal express delivery volume reached 7.38 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 41.1%. The port cargo throughput completed 1.26 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, and the growth rate continued to rebound.

The recovery of commercial passenger traffic reached half of the same period last year. In May, business passenger traffic reached 740 million passengers, reaching 50.7% of the same period last year, and the degree of recovery increased by 10.9 percentage points compared with April.

The 36 central cities across the country completed 3.52 billion people in public transportation, returning to 60.9% in the same period last year.
