Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and other departments today issued the Implementation Plan for the Special Action on the Construction of Service Quality for Senior Care Institutions 2020.

The plan proposes that the government promote the following policies:

  1. To formulate, promulgate, and promote the implementation opinions on the integration of medical and nursing development in Shanghai, and encourage social forces to establish medical and nursing integration institutions;
  2. To study and formulate service guides for integrated medical and nursing institutions, and strengthen the assessment and inspection of the quality of integrated medical and nursing services;
  3. To encourage pension institutions and relevant medical and health institutions to carry out various forms of contractual cooperation to provide the agreed medical and health services for the elderly staying in the institutions;
  4. To increase family doctors’ contracting services for elderly people staying in elderly care institutions with disability, dementia, chronic diseases, etc.;
  5. To promote smart medical care and promote deep integration of services.
