The ESG report includes three major non-financial indicators, such as environment, society, and governance. It is an important reference standard for investors to measure the sustainability of corporate development and social responsibility.

The report shows that as one of the first domestic companies to introduce anti-addiction systems, NetEase launched a series of measures to prevent minors from indulging in games as early as 2007.

In December 2019, NetEase and other leading domestic game companies jointly released the “Declaration on the Protection of Minors in the Chinese Game Industry”.

At the same time, NetEase mobilizes educational resources and uses technological advantages to provide online education courses for underdeveloped regions in China.

In 2018, NetEase announced an investment of RMB 100 million to support public welfare education, using advanced Internet technology to enable more students to obtain high-quality educational resources.

In September 2019, the Netease Public Welfare Education Project was launched, and more than 300 schools across the country benefited from the project.

In addition, as the largest original music platform in China, NetEase Cloud Music launched an original incentive fund of 100 million yuan in January this year, and provided another fund to musicians who need help in unexpected situations.

The index is a global authoritative and investment-referenced gender equality database that recognizes companies that are committed to enhancing the transparency of gender reporting and promoting women’s equality.

In daily operations, Netease explores new ways to save energy and reduce emissions. For example, as of 2019, the solar power generation system installed in Netease’s Hangzhou campus has historically generated more than 382 megawatts. The intelligent lighting control system installed in the office building of Netease Building can save energy consumption by up to 90%.

At the same time, in order to reduce carbon emissions, Netease office buildings use environmentally friendly construction materials to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 448 tons; employees are encouraged to use electric vehicles to travel, and exhaust fumes are reduced by more than 57 tons.

NetEase Yanxuan launched a series of environmental protection measures, such as simplifying product design, avoiding over-packaging, and using renewable packaging materials whenever possible.

NetEase Weiyang through the development of environmental protection technology, innovative farm sewage treatment system, significantly reduce water waste and farm sewage treatment pressure, and improve the utilization rate of animal waste.
