According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s steel production reached 120.474 million tons in 2019, a cumulative increase of 9.8%.

As of April 2020, China’s steel production was 10.7012 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. The daily steel production level was 3.5667 million tons/day, and the daily production increased by 11.83% month-on-month.

From January to April 2020, China’s cumulative steel production reached 37,438,900 tons, a cumulative decrease of 0.2%, and the cumulative daily production of steel was 3.0941 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.02%.

From January to April 2020, China’s steel exports exceeded 20 million tons

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s steel exports reached 64.29 million tons in 2019, a cumulative decrease of 7.3%.

As of April 2020, China’s steel export volume was 6.32 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%.

From January to April 2020, China’s steel exports totaled 20.6 million tons, a decrease of 2.75 million tons from the same period last year, and a cumulative decrease of 11.7%.

In terms of export value, China’s steel export value reached US$53,760.26 million in 2019, a cumulative decrease of 11.3%.

As of April 2020, China’s steel export volume was US$4753.6 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.

From January to April 2020, China’s steel exports totaled USD 15717.24 million, a decrease of USD 2767872 thousand from the same period of the previous year, a cumulative decrease of 14.9%. From January to April 2020, the average price of China’s steel exports was 76.237 million US dollars per 10,000 tons.

From January to April 2020, China’s steel imports exceeded 4 million tons

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s steel imports reached 12.3 million tons in 2019, a cumulative decrease of 6.5%. As of April 2020, China’s steel imports were 1.01 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%. Cumulatively, China’s steel imports from January to April 2020 reached 4.18 million tons, an increase of 280,000 tons compared with the same period of the previous year, with a cumulative increase of 7.4%.

In terms of import value, the total amount of China’s steel imports reached US$14110.86 million in 2019, a cumulative decrease of 14.1%. As of April 2020, China’s steel imports amounted to US$1120.76 million, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%.

Cumulatively, the amount of China’s steel imports from January to April 2020 reached 4401.16 million US dollars, a decrease of 353.51 million dollars compared with the same period of the previous year, a cumulative decrease of 7.4%. The price is 10.5291 million dollars/10,000 tons.
