Shenzhen currently have issued 25 million blockchain-based electronic invoices, marking a successful attempt to explore blockchain applications.

The Shenzhen Taxation Bureau and Tencent established the Smart Tax Lab in 2018 and took the lead in launching the “Blockchain Electronic Invoice” program.

Since its launch, the Shenzhen Blockchain electronic invoices provided with the underlying technical support by Tencent Blockchain have currently reached 25 million invoices, with a total invoicing amount of 25.9 billion yuan and nearly 20,000 registered enterprises.

Blockchain electronic invoices have been widely used in hundreds of industries including finance, real estate, retail, catering, transportation, hospitals, and Internet services.

In addition to electronic invoices, Smart Tax Lab continues to explore blockchain + tax applications. In May this year, the Shenzhen Taxation Bureau signed a cooperation framework agreement with Tencent and other companies to build a “tax-industry” alliance chain.

Tencent will leverage the “tax-industry” alliance chain to reach more small and medium-sized enterprises, and improve the efficiency of corporate financial services.
