Recently, Alibaba Cloud has completed the R&D session of its intelligent flood information collecting robot, and has begun pilot applications in some disaster-stricken areas.

According to Xu Shijun, Vice President of Alibaba Group, it took less than 5 hours to complete the information collecting from more than ten cities, thousands of streets and towns, and more than 10,000 township-level disaster information officers, at the same time reporting the information to the relevant departments for more accurate rescue during the pilot application of the robot in the disaster-stricken provinces along Yangtze River basin.

The robot is technically supported by Alibaba Cloud and developed based on the DAMO Academy’s intelligent outbound calling platform, which enables the robot to collect and judge from the intelligent outbound calls specifically in the emergency scenarios.

It can quickly collect the information by the intelligent voice Q&A system on how bad the disaster is, how many people are affected, how many resettled, how many houses are damaged, how many people are seeking for material aids, and etc.
