Guangzhou and Chengdu allowed to launch financial tech innovation and supervision pilot projects

According to the Guangzhou Branch of the People’s Bank of China, the central bank has approved Guangzhou City to launch financial technology innovation and supervision pilot projects.

According to the Guangzhou Branch of the People’s Bank of China, the central bank has approved Guangzhou City to launch financial technology innovation and supervision pilot projects.

It is worth noting that Chengdu has also been approved to launch pilot projects for financial technology innovation and supervision recently.

In April of this year, the People’s Bank of China announced the expansion plan of the pilot zones for financial technology innovation and supervision after the launch in Beijing in December 2019.

Shanghai, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Hebei’s Xiong’an New District, Hangzhou, and Suzhou are selected as the pilots, where licensed financial institutions and technology companies are permitted to apply for the tests.

So far, there are nine regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Xiong’an New District, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Guangzhou, and Chengdu that have launched the pilot projects.
