Dingdong Maicai, or Dingdongmc.com, a fresh food e-commerce platform in China, has officially settled in Nanjing, adopting the service mode of ordering on the Dingdong Maicai App and then fresh food delivered to door in 29 minutes.
Dingdong Maicai plans to open five pre-positioned warehouses in Nanjing at first, and then 40 more in Nanjing’s Xuanwu District and Gulou District before the end of December, 2020.
In order to strengthen the management in Nanjing, Dingdong Maicai even established a company named Chaolizhi (Nanjing) E-Commerce Co., Ltd. with one million yuan. The business scope of the company covers sales of unpacked food, sales of health-care food, sales on the Internet, imports and exports, etc.
Nanjing is the eleventh city that Dingdong Maicai settles in. Previously, it has opened more than 600 pre-positioned warehouses in ten other cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, with 600,000 orders per day, serving more than 20 million users.
Dingdong Maicai focuses on making grocery shopping more convenient. It adopts the model of pre-positioned warehouses that are closest to the community, and each warehouse covers communities within three kilometers. The platform meets user needs of shopping food including vegetables, fruits, meat, poultry, eggs and milk for three meals a day.
Data shows that 80% of the fresh food sold on Dingdong Maicai are directly sourced from the production area, from more than 350 direct supply bases and 500 direct supply suppliers across the country in provinces like Shandong, Yunnan and Ningxia.
