Renault teams with Geely to develop hybrid models

According to the MoU, the cooperation will reflect Geely’s strategy of opening up its vehicle structure and accelerate the launch of Renault’s “Renaulution Plan” in China and South Korea.

Renault Group and Geely Holding Group signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop hybrid models on August 9.

Based on the CMA framework of Lynk & Co’s energy-efficient vehicle platforms under Geely, the two parties will jointly develop Renault-branded hybrid vehicles, share resources and technologies, and cooperate in China and South Korea as key markets.

According to the MoU, the cooperation will reflect Geely’s strategy of opening up its vehicle structure and accelerate the launch of Renault’s “Renaulution Plan” in China and South Korea.

In the Chinese market, the two parties will develop Renault-branded hybrid models based on Geely Holdings’ platform technology。

In the Korean market, the dual will cooperate based on the CMA framework of Lynk & Co’s energy-saving platform to explore the localization of vehicles.

In the cooperation, Geely will provide platform technology, while Renault will provide branding and design.
At the same time, Renault will make full use of its advantages in brand strategy, channel, service development, defining appropriate customer journey.
